Obtaining required configuration from Databricks Account

  1. Login to the Databricks Account console as Account admin user.

     

  2. Copy the Account ID from the User Profile button, keep it handy for a future step.

     

  3. Go to User managementService principals.

     

  4. Add service principal with name zilla-service.

     

  5. Click on the zilla-service service principal.

     

  6. Copy the UUID of the service principal, keep it handy for a future step.

  1. Navigate to the Roles tab and assign the Account admin role for zilla-service.

  2. Navigate back to Principal information tab and generate OAuth Secret by clicking on the Generate secret button. Copy the Secret and keep it handy for a future step.

Set up Databricks application in Zilla

  1. Visit Zilla application and login using your admin credentials and then click Add Application in the top right.

  1. A window with a search bar appears, type in Databricks in the search bar and hit enter. Databricks app entry will appear at the top of the list, click Add to Applications to the right.

  1. Fill in the form with appropriate details and then click Add to Applications.

 

  1. A detailed view of databricks application appears. Click Sync now in top right corner.

 

  1. Enable API Integration in the below pop-up.

  1. Enter the Account ID, Service Principal's UUID and Service Principal's OAuth Secret obtained in earlier steps in the respective boxes and click Next.

  1. Click Next and the sync will start.

  1. Click on Done.

  1. Check the Sync summary, then click on Close.
