Adding Required Scope (Tenant.Read.All) to Power BI Using the Microsoft App

  1. Go to App registration

  2. Under app registration use the search or scroll down to search for the app which is used to sync Azure Active Directory.

  3. On the Left Panel select API permissions

  4. Under API permissions click ‘Add a permission’

  1. A popup will appear, scroll down to until you find Power BI Service Card

  1. Click on Power Bi Service card and then click on Application permissions

  1. Select ‘Tenant.Read.All’ permission

  1. Click Add permission

  2. Scroll down to API permissions page until you see Power Bi section

10.  There will be a warning sign, this is because we haven't granted admin consent which is done by creator of the app. To grant admin consent scroll to the top and click grant admin consent

11.  Once admin consent has been granted, the warning sign should be gone

  1. To remove older scope (Workspace.Read.All) click ... then click Remove permission
