Overview
This article provides instructions on how to connect to an API to import data from your application into Zilla. You will launch your application from Zilla, set up an API configuration, and send your data securely to Zilla.
Instructions
Get the Domain Name:
Login to Tableau and copy the URL Domain (ex. prod-demo-a.online.tableau.com) and save it for a later step.
Get the Personal Access Token Name and Secret:
Visit the Tableau account.
Click on the avatar section on the top right corner of the page and then click My Account Settings.
Enter a Personal Access Token (PAT) name and click
Create new token
.Below popup will be displayed. Copy Token Name and Token Secret and save them for a later step.
Get the Content Url:
When you manually sign in to Tableau Server or Tableau Online, the Content Url is the value that appears after
/site/
in the browser address bar. For example, in the following URLs, the content Url isMarketingTeam
:(Tableau Server)
http://MyServer/#/site/MarketingTeam/projects
(Tableau Online)
https://10ay.online.tableau.com/#/site/MarketingTeam/workbooks
Copy the Content Url and save it for a later step.
Set up Tableau Application Integration on Zilla:
Locate your desired Tableau application instance on Zilla, click
Sync now
and enable API Integration.Add the configuration details saved above:
Domain Name (do not include 'https', ex: prod-demo-a.online.tableau.com) and Personal Access Token Name, Personal Access Token Secret, and Content Url then clickNext.

Done.
When you have finished with all the steps above, review the information in Zilla that was synced.
