This document provides instructions on how to connect to an API to import data from this application into your instance of Zilla.

In this guide, you will:

  1. Launch your application from inside Zilla

  2. Set up an API configuration

  3. Send your data securely to Zilla

Step-by-Step Instructions

This page outlines the process of configuring and using the Box API through Zilla to sync permissions, groups, and users.

To sync data we recommend using the API method. However, you may also sync data with our Browser Extension, follow instructions here: Box - Browser Extension

Steps To Create a Box Connector

1. Locate and click the Dev Console button at the bottom right of the page.

2. Click Create New App.

3. Click Custom App.

4. Select User Authentication (OAuth 2.0). Once you have chosen a name for your app click Create App.

5. Scroll down to “Applications Scopes” and tick the boxes next to “Manage users” and “Manage groups”.

6. Now scroll to “OAuth 2.0 Redirect URI”. Clear the box, and paste https://app.zillasecurity.com/api/auth/callback/box into the box. Now click Save Changes.

7. Locate your OAuth 2.0 Credentials and save them. In the next step, these credentials will be used to connect to Box from Zilla.

Set up Box Application Integration on Zilla

1. Locate your desired Box application instance on Zilla, click Sync now and enable API Integration. Find the OAuth 2.0 Credentials you obtained in the last step and enter them into the corresponding boxes then click Update.

2. Click Next.

3. Click Grant access to Box.

4. Your sync will start.

5. You may now view the synced data on Zilla.

When you have finished with all the steps above, review the information in Zilla that was synced.
