Viewing and Editing Available Permissions

Overview

Available permissions are the full set of permissions that can be assigned within an application. These are the different actions or levels of access that can be granted across the system. The Available Permissions section within the Profile tab in Zilla allows users to review and edit these permissions, depending on their access.

Scope: Admins, App Admins, Read-Only Admins

This article covers the following topics:

Prerequisites

  • At least one app added and synced to Zilla

Viewing Available Permissions

  1. Click the Applications tab within Zilla, find the desired application, click on the application’s name to view the application details page, and click on the Profile tab.

  2. Scroll down to view the set of Available Permissions for the application.

Note: The information in the Available Permissions table is not the same as the Permissions tab which shows the permissions actually held by various user accounts.

It is possible to customize your view for this table. Click the rectangular Select Columns icon on the right side of the page, to view the list of columns that can be displayed in the table. Check the boxes next to the column names you would like to add or uncheck them to remove them from your view.

Select the Owner checkbox to display owners for each permission if they have been assigned. Permission Owners can be used to help automatically assign review items when an access review is underway.

Editing Available Permissions

  1. Click Edit in the upper right corner of the Available Permissions table to view a dialog where the properties of available permissions can be edited and updated as needed.

  1. If needed, edit the Name, Privileged Status, Type, and Description for a given permission.

  2. Click Add New Permission to create a new permission, if desired.

  3. To edit a permission owner, select the Edit permission owners checkbox at the top of the dialog. If an application has no permission owners, the ability to edit permission owners will be disabled by default.

  4. Once all desired changes have been made, click Save to update the Available Permissions.
