Uploading a Directory via CSV

Uploading a Directory via CSV

Overview

Directories can be custom applications with relevant data uploaded via CSV directly to Zilla. This article will detail the steps to upload the CSV after the application has been added and designated as a directory.

Scope: Admins

This article covers the following topics:

Prerequisites

  • A custom application has been added, but the application has not been synced with Zilla (refer to this article for more information)

  • The custom application has been designated as a directory (refer to this article for more information)

Uploading the Directory CSV

  1. Search for the custom application designated as a directory, and click on the application name. Apps designated as directories are indicated with a Directory/Dir badge.

  1. Scroll to the right in the Zilla Attributes table and confirm all columns are correctly mapped.

Advanced Options

It may be necessary to utilize the advanced options to ensure that the directory data is mapped correctly in Zilla.

  1. Click Show Advanced Options to display additional selections you can make to align your application information with Zilla mappings. Three possible selections will display, and depending on the layout of your CSV you may need to select one or several of them to properly map your directory data in Zilla.

Mapping Active Account Status

If desired, active account status can be mapped from the directory CSV. For example, if the values in the active account column of the CSV are Yes/No, the values in Zilla indicating an active account need to be mapped in order to accurately capture account information.

  1. If applicable, check the box to indicate that the active account status needs to be mapped from the CSV and type the value that signifies an active account in the text box below. All other values will signify an inactive account.

  1. Use additional advanced options if necessary. Refer to the rest of this article for additional information on utilizing the other options.

Previously Mapped Accounts Are Missing in the CSV

If any accounts that were previously synced are not in the new CSV, those accounts will not be updated and their status will not change. This option allows accounts that are missing from the latest CSV import to be marked as deleted.

  1. If desired, check the box to ensure the status of accounts that are missing in the CSV are updated to deleted.

Skip Syncing Non-User Accounts

If there are non-user accounts in your CSV that should not be imported and do not contain an attribute that user accounts have (ex. all user accounts contain a value for title but non-user accounts do not), the rows containing non-user accounts can be skipped when syncing.

  1. If applicable, check the box to indicate that non-user accounts should be skipped and type the attribute/column header that signifies user account in the text box below. Any rows without a value for that attribute will not be imported.

  1. Scroll through the columns to ensure the column title matches the data under it and everything is mapped correctly. If anything is incorrectly mapped, use the dropdown under the column title to choose the correct value to map.

In the example below, a warning displays because the Email column is incorrectly mapped with the middleName value.

Syncing the CSV

Once you have verified the CSV column mapping click Next.

  1. If all rows are valid and all data looks acceptable, click Import to bring this data into Zilla.

In the example below, two warnings have appeared because a user’s email does not match the stated domain(s) added to the Zilla settings and a user is missing a value in the Manager Email field. Invalid data such as an invalid email address format will not be imported.

  1. Once the data has been imported, click Users in the navigation pane on the left side of the page to review the imported data.
