Zilla First Time Setup Guide

Zilla First Time Setup Guide

Overview

Before you and your team can begin to use all of Zilla’s features, there are several steps you need to take to finish setting up your tenant.

Scope: Admin users

This article covers the following topics:

Configure Single Sign-On

Your Zilla Security tenant requires that a Single Sign-On provider is configured in order for reviewers to login. Setting up SSO allows admins and reviewers to sign in seamlessly with your IDP.

Zilla supports multiple options:

Configure a User Directory (Source of Truth)

Your Zilla Security tenant also requires an external user directory. The directory’s data is used as a source of truth your app users will be compared against. Any changes to users are made in your user directory and applications directly as users are not editable in Zilla by design.

A directory can be any application and is not limited to what is in our catalogue.

To add your directory:

  1. Click the Applications tab on the left side of the page, and then click Add Application. You can choose an application from our catalogue or choose a custom one.

  2. Navigate to your account settings by clicking the Settings tab on the left side of the page.

  3. Expand the User Directory dropdown and click Add Application. Designate a directory by selecting your chosen app from the list.

  4. Sync data for the first time.

Be sure to designate a directory before syncing data from that app for the first time.

Some common directory types are listed below:

Configure and Sync Applications

There are several ways to import application data into Zilla:

  • API

  • CSV Upload (manual upload or automating via SFTP)

  • Zilla Universal Sync (ZUS) - Browser Extension

  1. To add an application to your tenant, click the Applications tab on the left side of the page, and then click Add Application.

  2. Any currently supported API-synced apps will appear in the catalogue. You can find specific setup information for each app here.

  3. If you can't find the app you are looking for, click the Custom Application tab.

  4. You will have the choice between using the CSV method, or our ZUS browser extension.

For more information on the CSV and ZUS browser extension methods, please refer to the articles linked below:

If desired, you can also use ZUS in the Cloud (ZINC) service or PO Box to sync application data. Please refer to the articles linked below for more information:
