Overview

This article provides instructions on how to connect to an API to import data from your application into Zilla. You will launch your application from Zilla, set up an API configuration, and send your data securely to Zilla.

 

Steps to Create a Heroku Connector:

  1. Login to Heroku and go to the Heroku Account Applications page.

  2. In the API Clients section, click Register new API client.

  3. Enter the following:

    • Name: ZillaConnector

    • Callback URL: https://app.zillasecurity.com/api/auth/callback/heroku

    • Click Register

    • Close the right side panel (API client)

  4. Click the Edit icon under API Clients.

     

  5. Save Client ID and Client Secret for later steps.

Obtaining the team ID

  1. Log in to your Heroku account and navigate to your dashboard.

  2. Click on the dropdown menu at the top right corner of the screen and select "Team".

  3. Go to Settings tab and there you will find the team ID. Save the ID for a later step.


Setup Heroku Application Integration on Zilla

  1. Visit Zilla application and login using your admin credentials and then click Add Application in the top right.

  2. A window with a search bar appears, type in Heroku in the search bar and hit enter. Heroku app entry will appear at the top of the list, click Add to Applications to the right.

     

  3. Fill in the form with appropriate details and then click Add to Applications.

     

  4. The Heroku app will be added to the Applications tab section, click on it.

     

  5. A detailed view of Heroku application appears. Click Sync now in top right corner.

     

  6. Enable API Integration. Enter the Client ID, Client Secret, and ID of the Team obtained in earlier steps in the respective boxes. If the team is an enterprise team then enter Yes in Sync Heroku Enterprise Team and click Next.

     

  7. Click Next and the sync will start.

 

When you have finished with all the steps above, review the information in Zilla that was synced.
