Settings to be done from Datadog account

Note: To do these steps you must have Datadog Admin Role otherwise API keys may not have enough permission & sync will fail.

API keys

API keys are unique to your organization. An API key is required by the Datadog Agent to submit metrics and events to Datadog.

Application keys

Application keys, in conjunction with your org’s API key, give users access to Datadog’s programmatic API. Application keys are associated with the user account that created them and have the permissions and capabilities of the user who created them.

1. To generate API Key visit https://app.datadoghq.com/account/settings#api or go manually using option from the left navigation bar, Click on Integrations → API

2. From the sections of the next page click on API Keys section & generate one API key keep its value copied somewhere safe for later use, ( This is sensitive key shall not be shared publicly)

3. Now to generate Application Key visit Team section in left navigation bar,

4. On the next page select navigate to the section Application Keys & generate one application key. Keep it copied somewhere safe for later use. ( This is sensitive key shall not be shared publicly )

Note: While copying Application key copy KEY, not KEY ID a copy button appears dynamically to extreme right when you hover over the application key entry.

Setup on Zilla Application

5. Login to Zilla application with Admin role, Add Datadog application by visiting Applications → Add Application

6. On the next screen search for Datadog & click Add to Applications

7. A dialog box appears, fill in the necessary details, then click Add to Applications

8. The entry of Datadog-1 instance will appear in your Applications section click on it,

9. A detailed view of Datadog application appears. Click Sync now in top right corner.

    

10. Enable API Integration. Enter the API Key and Application Key. Update the default Datadog API URL if applicable. Click Next.

11. Click Next.

12. Click Done, then Close.
