Power BI

Prerequisite - Tenant.Read.All scope is required on the Microsoft App in order to sync Power BI via API

Please see below for instructions on how to add this scope to the Microsoft App:

Steps to add the Power BI application to Zilla and sync

  • Login to the Zilla application using your admin credentials and then click Add Application in the top right.

  • A window with a search bar appears, type in power bi in the search bar. Power BI application entry will appear at the top of the list, click Add to Applications button to the right.

  • Fill in the form with appropriate details and then click Add to Applications button. Verify that AAD is the parent application of Power BI. If you have multiple instances of AAD in your Zilla tenant then a drop-down will appear to select the AAD Parent application instance.

Make sure your AAD parent application has been synced recently.

Note:

  1. In Zilla, a Power BI workspace is a resource and is displayed on the Resource tab. All the memberships of a workspace including members of a group and directly assigned members are displayed in the Accounts tab and groups are displayed in the Groups tab.

  2. While configuring AAD, set sync all groups to yes otherwise any non-security groups assigned to Power BI workspace will not get synced in Power BI.

  • After clicking Add to Applications you will be redirected to the application’s Profile tab. Please verify the parent application.

  • Click Sync now in the top right corner.

  • Enable API Integration and fill in the tenant’s domain from AAD.

  • Click Next.

  • Click Next again.

  • Click Done.

  • Click Close.
